OFFLINE WAS HERE

Eilen koitti aika hartaasti odotetun team eventin - eli siis meidän rankkaa työelämää säännöllisesti tasapainottavan huvittelun! Tällä kertaa luvassa oli jotain uutta ja erilaista, nimittäin iskimme työporukalla cocktailkurssille. Opittiin että cocktail-sanan historia juontaa juurensa kukko(cock)tappeluihin ja että kaiken a ja o tiskin takana on täsmällisyys. Mua muistutettiin tämän lisäksi myös jälkien siivoamisesta...

Jokainen pääsi kokeilemaan tiskin takana tönöttämistä ja höröttämistä ja drinkkejä tehtiin ryhmissä mitä naurulta ehdittiin. En mä siinä innostuksen tohinassa kyllä paljoa oppinut. Tästä huolimatta ilta oli ihan mahtava ja cocktaileista viis sai mut taas miettimään, kuinka onnekas mä olen kun saan työskennellä niin siistien ja lahjakkaiden tyyppien kanssa ja kaupan päälle meillä on hauskaa. Ihmiset on varmasti parasta mitä Zalando on mulle antanut. 

// Finally yesterday was the time for our team event - some fun team building activity regularly to balance our oh-so-hard daily work life. This time the plan was something exotic: we were going to take a cocktail course! During the night we learned that word 'cocktail' has roots in cockfights (?) and the first thing to remember behind the bar is accuracy. Also, for some reason the teacher kept telling me about tidying up after oneself...

Everyone got a chance to be an awesome bartender and try some recipes. I didn't learn much due to my 18-year-old-girl's over-excitement though. Nevertheless, the night was wonderful and reminded me once again how lucky I am to work with such cool and talented (also outside bar) people - they are definitely the best thing this year at Zalando has given to me.

LUIS

I rarely make collages but Luis' visit truly is worth one so here we go! Pictures don't do any justice for the bunch of emotions undergone during last week but at least you get an idea. 

Every single day we met in front of Zalando at 1 o'clock (sometimes Spanish timing) for a wonderful lunch, planning session for the rest of the day // Often we went to a park close to my office and enjoyed the sun and +30 degrees that we were blessed with for the whole week. We also forgot to make the plans we were supposed to // Nordic party arranged by my dear colleagues. A good night of internationality, new people and nice talks // Deepest conversations definitely took place on Sunday(hangover) by the river, spiced up with the best döner kebabs in town. World seemed the better place again

I think we took more selfies than ever. We also agreed that taking them in public should not be considered awkward or embarrassing anymore. Hitting the floor with some awesome DJs in Berlin nightlife. I can tell you the clubs were like saunas that night // Beautiful view of Berlin riverside while talking about the meaning of life (or just a good outfit) // After day on the beach. I think this was 101st version of the selfie series but still it feels just as pure as the first one // Absolute quote of the week. I will miss my bra.

Auringonlasku on ehdottomasti yksi kivoimmista päivän hetkistä. Kuluneen päivän prosessoimiseen, syvään hengittämiseen, Berliinin siluetin ihailuun, parvekkeella chillailuun ja viinilasilliseen. Ja kiistämättä myös asukuvien ottamiseen - kuvat keskiviikolta ennen leffailtaa :)

@ OPEN AIR CINEMA

Luis on kotiutunut takaisin Espanjaan ja mulla alkaa kuluneesta viikosta henkinen ja fyysinen palautuminen maanpinnalle. Vika yö kului klubilla josta suoraan toimistolle, joten sata lasissa mentiin loppuun saakka. Nyt on jo ikävä. 

Keskiviikkoiltana haluttiin tehdä jotain iisiä ja suunnattiin Kreuzberiin ulkoilmaleffaan klik, mikä osoittautui ihan kymppivalinnaksi. Mukaan saa ottaa omia eväitä (krhm) ja paikat vapaasti valittavissa. Me mentiin tyypillisesti niin myöhässä ettei saatu tuoleja, mutta lämpimänä kesäiltana nurmipaikka ja huopaviltti ajoi asian täydellisesti. Leffa oli Dallas Buyers Club ja nukahdin vain viideksi minuutiksi - mikä on multa saavutus, joten lämpimät suositukset sekä leffasta että teatterista kaikille. 

// Luis landed back in Spain yesterday and now it's the time to start recovering from the past week both mentally and physically. We spent the last night clubbing (where from I ran directly to the office…)  so we literally made the best of every hour we had. Miss him already. 

On Wednesday we wanted to do something relaxing&fun and headed to an Open air cinema in Kreuzberg click. You could bring your own snacks (meaning beer) and seating is free for choice. Of course we were typically too late to get actual chairs but summer night was perfect for lying on the grass wrapped in blankets as well. The movie was Dallas Buyers Club and I only fell asleep for a moment - which is an accomplishment. All in all, both theatre and movie highly recommended!

PRIMARK CONFESSIONS

Meillä kaikilla on niitä, onhan? Se kauhun ja innostuksensekainen tunne kun sä painit satojen turistien joukossa etsien epätoivoisesti mitä tahansa vaatekappaletta omassa koossa, koska kaikki maksaa markan? Ja samalla toivot että pääsisit jo pois. Näin mun Primark-taival ainakin joku vuosi sitten alkoi, mutta onneks hommaan on löytynyt pientä balanssia matkan varrelta. Käytiin Luisin kanssa tsekkaamassa Alexanderplatzille avattu uusin hävityksenkauhistus, ja lähti sieltä jotain mukaankin, melkein traumoitta. 

// We all have them, don't we? The chaotic feeling of confusion & excitement when you are desperately fighting over your own size in every single piece around you since they are all cheaper than  a Cosmopolitan (yes, either cocktail or magazine) - simultaneously willing to get out of that circus. This is how at least my first experiences were with Primark but thank god I have slightly improved from those days. Today we checked out the recently opened store in Alexanderplatz and nearly survived without trauma. Even made some bargains!
